Seymour Leisure Centre – Willmott Dixon

Seymour Leisure Centre in Marylebone is undergoing a major refurbishment led by Willmott Dixon on behalf of Westminster City Council, transforming the historic Grade II-listed 1930s building into a modern, inclusive community hub. The project combines careful heritage restoration with significant upgrades, including a refurbished swimming pool, new gym and sports hall, fitness studios, and improved accessibility throughout.
A key element of the scheme is the integration of a new permanent home for Marylebone Library, alongside community spaces and a café, bringing leisure, learning and social uses together under one roof. Sustainability is central to the design, with low-carbon technologies such as air-source heat pumps, solar panels and energy-efficient lighting helping to reduce environmental impact. Due for completion in 2026, the refurbished centre will provide high-quality sports, wellbeing and community facilities while preserving the building’s historic character.
